AIDE aims at enhancing climate change mitigation and adaption practices/measures among women in rural communities. AIDE focuses on renewable energy and environment conservation.
Renewable energy: This aims at promoting gender friendly renewable technologies in rural households. AIDE promotes renewable and alternative energies through capacity building, briquettes making, usage of energy saving stoves and solar technologies among women. Furthermore, AIDE has set up an energy credit fund for women to get various energy technologies. AIDE also links women to suppliers of energy saving technologies at lower prices. AIDE also engages with energy actors on increasing access to clean energy sources to ensure gender mainstreaming and sustainability.
Environment conservation: This aims at influencing policy implementation in environment conservation at grassroots communities. AIDE conducts awareness and advocacy campaigns on environment conservation through engaging women and different actors. AIDE also supports farmer households to plant trees to protect the environment. Furthermore, AIDE supports girls and women in recycling waste into sellable materials.
Arise Integrated Development Efforts Uganda (AIDE) is a women-led nongovernmental organization working towards improving the economic and social well-being of girls, women and children through empowering them with knowledge, skills, material support and advocacy.
