Humanitarian support

AIDE aims to promote coping mechanisms for women, girls and vulnerable children and refugee communities. This will focus on food security and livelihoods, Sexual Reproductive Health Rights, Water Sanitation and Hygiene as well as Emergency relief and peace building.

Food security and livelihoods: Under this AIDE aims to enhance better livelihoods among refugee women. To enable sustainable food systems, AIDE support refugee women and girls to grow their own food on the plots allotted to them by Office of the Prime Minister through conducting training sessions for refugees on better farming practices/methods as well as providing farm inputs and advisory services. AIDE also supports women to form village savings and loans associations through which they access small loans to set up income generating projects. AIDE also empowers girl and women through vocational skills development as well as provide start up kits/capital to set up businesses.

Sexual Reproductive Health Rights: This aims at strengthening access to sexual and reproductive Health services (SRHR) women and girls. AIDE facilitates awareness trainings in body integrity and decision-making, menstrual health and hygiene practices and Sexual Reproductive Health among girls and women. Furthermore, AIDE organises medical health outreaches and camps for sexual reproductive health services. Similarly, AIDE holds information sharing through meetings and radio talks on existing strategies and policies on gender-based violence. Moreover, AIDE referrals females who have faced violence to litigation services.

Water Sanitation and Hygiene: This aims at increasing access to clean water and hygiene practices for refugees. Under WASH also supports communities and households through construction of gender friendly latrines, conducts. AIDE also conducts trainings in hygiene and sanitation practices and proper waste management disposal among women households and wider communities.

Emergency relief and peace building: This aims to enhance access to basic needs and safety to vulnerable families, and refugees during crisis time. AIDE provides vulnerable households with basic needs including food, clothing, medical care and among others. AIDE also facilitates communities through conflict resolution and peace building sessions to heal and settle in.
